My name is Karli, but you can call me your new copywriter.
Storytelling is at the heart of what I do. I’ve spent the past six years writing in-house, helping brand voices stand out in the void while collaborating with marketing and design teams. Whether through blogs, emails, product descriptions, or whatever else we dream up together, I’m passionate about telling brand stories that resonate.
As a writer, I possess a genuine love of language, an editor’s eye for errors, a deadline-driven mindset, and a deep appreciation for the Oxford comma — as well as the em dash which you can see.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Video Studies from Purdue University and later lived in Paris teaching English, writing personal essays, and speaking broken French. Before becoming a full-time copywriter, I worked in Hollywood casting big-budget films and television series like NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles. That chapter is always a fun one to tell.
When I’m not working, I’m either at the thrift store with a full cart or at my local cinema with a large popcorn. I love concerts, fancy hotels, long walks, my bed, takeout-fueled movie marathons, and getting in the creative flow with my debut memoir, Motherluck (coming soon).
I’m currently based in Austin, Texas and am available for freelance, contract, or full-time opportunities. Before I forget, I recently wrote this piece for Oprah Daily I’m extra proud of.
